Gwynedd Celebrates at McAuley's Pub
Saturday, March 2, GMA’s gymnasium transformed into McAuley’s Pub for an Irish extravaganza. McAuley’s Pub Night is Gwynedd’s largest fundraising event of the year; bringing alumnae, parents, faculty, staff, family, and friends together for a fun night of Irish food, music, pub games, and a silent auction.
The evening was a resounding success, boasting our largest crowd to date. This year, all money raised will benefit A Place to Soar: The Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School Campaign for a New Monarch Wing to provide essential community, dining, learning, and counseling spaces. The campaign has raised over $6 million of its $7M goal and Pub Night will bring us a step closer to the finish line. The event's fundraising results will be announced soon.
Many thanks to alumnae from near and far who participated as attendees, sponsors, and donors. For instance, Maureen Donovan Walkinshaw ’70, an executive search consultant, offered three virtual career coaching sessions and Maureen Hegedus Hilleary ’99, a DC-based functional nutrition counselor, offered two nutrition counseling sessions. Christine Kerlin Nasserghodsi ’91, even offered her beautiful seaside condo near Dubai for a week-long getaway. We hope to expand our auction offerings next year to include more alumnae services as a way of expanding our reach and connectedness as a Gwynedd community.
